Join us as we build art for the Good Trouble Day of Resistance!
National organizations are coming together for an action in remembrance of the late civil rights leader and longtime congressman John Lewis. A civil rights icon, he coined the term ‘good trouble’ after his years of nonviolent civil disobedience in the 1960’s.
The New York City Good Trouble team is planning a principled and peaceful action that will center the demand for civil rights for immigrants and for every person in our communities. In honor of making some good trouble, we will be making protest art, banners and signs for the day of action in mid-July!
This is more than a protest; it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.
